A few years ago, while sitting in a stadium full of Oregon Duck fans, I had an idea pop into my head. You can give credit to the sideways rainfall coming for my face or possibly the frustration I had pulling up the headband around my ears one too many times.
I could only assume my cheeks and the tip of my nose were red from the 45 degree weather I chose to subject myself too. The Californian in me clearly didn’t know how to dress appropriately for these rainy & cold, Oregon weather conditions.
I remember wishing that beanie I had at home would have fit over all my hair and covered my ears. My mom always told me your ears and feet regulate your body temperature so I chose to believe her. I’m not 100% sure that’s accurate, but it stuck with me all these years and I’ve made it a point not to “Google” it.
In that moment of regret for my poor choices, I was wishing I would have just grabbed a pair of scissors and cut a hole through the top of my beanie; all my curls would have a place to go and my ears wouldn’t suffer at the expense of my big hair.
Queue lightbulb.
For the next 3 years this idea kept ruminating in my head until something finally made me pull the trigger a few months ago. I got to work and I’m excited to say I made it happen.
These HAPI beanies are satin-lined to protect the health of your hair and also include an opening at the top designed for your pony “poof” or “tail” to fit through. As of now, you can pick one up at the Studio on your way out or pull a drive-by anytime.
Here’s to looking forward to the many Oregon football games I’ll get to enjoy this fall — rain or shine!
